Purpose: To train frontline security officers and/or dedicated dispatch personnel, to be security dispatchers.

Modern security dispatch centres exist both in private corporations, public corporations, and contract security companies. Often larger is scale, these dispatch centres monitor alarm and fire systems, CCTV cameras, access control systems as well as direct first responders to calls for service and other emergency situations.

Multi-faceted communications centres often are staffed with call takers, a supervisor as well as dispatchers. These are complex workplaces and require well coordinated processes to function effectively.

At the other end of the spectrum, are the smaller centres, often staffed by one or two people who are responsible to do everything all at once. In both of these situations, a dispatcher is essentially the “air traffic controller” of the agency with a massive responsibility for due diligence and safety.

Adequate training is required in order to ensure that staff function seamlessly, effectively and efficiently in order not to become overwhelmed in an emergency or during peak hours.
