Who should register

This Conflict Prevention and Violence Prevention course has been designed for frontline, customer facing security and other employees. While conflicts occur every day in these professions, the key is not to avoid them necessarily as much as it is to learn how to prevent them in the first place.

Violence in various forms often accompanies conflicts. "Avoiding" conflicts can be perceived as not dealing with an issue or "sweeping it under the rug" only to fester and come up again and again.

Conflict Prevention, and ultimately Pro-active Violence Prevention focuses on the soft skills of communications, understanding emotional driven behaviour, and being a good listener while being cognizant of personal safety and situational awareness issues.

Q. Is this the same content as NVCI or CPI?

A. NVCI/CPI is proprietary system within an American based company that provides training in a specific system/methodology that they subscribe to. We are a Canadian based company with only Canadian vetted materials according to Canadian laws. This is not to say that NVCI is not acceptable in Canada when clearly it is and has been for years, its just that we don't recognize their training nor do many of our Canadian clients. We do not recertify NVCI/CPI certifications nor teach their materials.

Q. Is this the same content that I would get if I attended an in class training session.

A. Yes, the only difference being that you are not part of a larger group for discussion purposes however you do have the capability of speaking one on one to the instructor here.

Q. Can I log in and out and take the course part time and for how long do I have access?

A. Yes. The course is programmed for 30 days access however if you need more time, just email your instructor and they will extend it for you at no charge.

Q. Is there a hands on portion or modules available for this course?

A. Yes. On request, a hands on "disengagement skills" portion can be arranged at an additional charge. This online piece can be integrated into that same day's training.
